Multi-function device
The FIBARO Door/Windows Sensor operates on a battery. Supports Z-Wave standard. The sensor expands the capabilities of the system by monitoring the opening of doors, windows and garage doors. It is used in automatic control of light, climate and is used in security systems. In addition, the module can be equipped with a temperature sensor and can be used as a device that expands the capabilities of the wall switch.
The device can combine the functions of 3 different devices:
|
Opening sensor doors or windows |
Binary input and script trigger |
Temperature sensor |
1) Door or window opening sensor
The Door/window sensor detects whether a window or door is open or closed. When the window is open, the system will not begin to heat or condition the air in the room, which will avoid unnecessary energy costs. Installing a sensor on the front door will allow you to turn on the light automatically when the door is opened or use a pre-created light scenario, for example, “Coming home”. The Door/window sensor is also used as an alarm sensor in case of unauthorized intrusion.

2) Binary Input and Script Trigger
A Door/window sensor connected to a regular wall switch can remotely control other Z-Wave devices, trigger scenes through the controller, and also allows you to place unplanned switches anywhere without running wires. The number and location of existing switches no longer limits you when creating a smart home. In addition, other sensors can be connected to the sensor, such as a motion sensor or an RFID sensor. All this will allow you to run scripts that you have previously configured in the controller.
| The “Everyone is gone / We are here” button allows you to turn off or turn on the necessary equipment and lighting in one motion. | Connecting a regular switch to the FIBARO door/window sensor will enable pre-configured scenarios. Configure different number of clicks on the switch to run different scenarios. | An RFID sensor connected to a door/window opening sensor will be able to command the Smart Home to open the door, lift the garage door, turn on the necessary lighting and ventilation inside the garage. |
Door/window sensor also works withtemperature sensor DS18B20(sold separately). Including a temperature sensor can significantly increase the system's capabilities. For example, an opening sensor monitors whether a window is open, and a temperature sensor collects all the necessary information so as not to overcool the room during automatic ventilation.
Extremely compact
The FIBARO Door/Window sensor is the smallest device of this type among all currently available on the market. The design of the device makes it virtually invisible on any window or door.
— 76 mmin length
— 17 mmwide
— 19 mmhigh
Easy and quick installation
Installing the sensor is extremely simple. Take it out of the box, remove the top cover of the case, pull out the protective tab that protects the battery from discharging, and screw or glue the sensor to the desired location using the double-sided adhesive tape included in the kit. Z-Wave technology allows the device to operate for about 2 years without the need to change the battery. You can always view the battery charge level for all devices in the controller control panel. In any case, it will warn you in advance about the need to replace them.
Setting up the FIBARO Door/Window Sensor is as simple as possible and takes no more than
1-3 minutes:
1) In the controller interface, go to the "Devices" section.
2) Click the "Add Device" button. The controller will enter discovery mode
and adding new devices.
3) Press the service button on the sensor.
4) The sensor is ready for use!
The FIBARO Door/Window Sensor is designed to automatically update its software over the air without your participation.
The FIBARO Door/Window Sensor is available in seven colors.
