HomeBridge Fibaro AppleHomeKit Instructions
The Apple Home app makes it easy to control all smart home technologies directly from your iPhone, but there are some limitations when working with Apple. The biggest disadvantage is that Home only works with a small number of HomeKit-approved smart devices.
This often means paying extra to stay in the Apple ecosystem, but there is a way to circumvent the limitations of HomeKit. All you need is a program called Homebridge.
Homebridge is a server that runs on Node.js . As the name suggests, it acts as a bridge between Apple HomeKit and other devices.
A ready-made Smart Home controller for connecting the smart home system to the Apple Home app. Homebridge allows you to integrate with smart home devices that do not support the HomeKit protocol.
To install the controller, you need to connect it to the local network and follow the instructions by filling in the login password and the local address of your controller. Next, you need to add the device to the Apple Home app and pull all the devices in your ecosystem into the Home app.
With the homebridge controller, you can control your smart home by voice via Siri apps. For example: Hi Siri, turn on the light in the hotel room by 30%.
The plug-in for Fibaro HC2/Lite controllers is already installed on this HomeBridge, so HomeBridge works out of the box with the Fibaro system. For other controllers (for example, Vera), you need to install a plugin from the HomeBridge web interface.
In case of difficulties with using and configuring HomeBridge, you can contact support and remote configuration.
The package includes:
Microcontroller
microUSB Charger
SD card with a recording image of the system
Ethernet Cable
